Eligibility: Candidates having Degree in Nursing
from a Government Recognised Nursing Institute or currently in
the final year of their Nursing Degrees Fees: The course fee
is Rs. 15,000/- (Rupees fifteen thousand only) per student.
DONER is supporting Rs. 13,000/- towards enrollment of the
students and the students have to bear balance of. Rs. 2000/-
only. The selection of the students will be done by the Project
Steering Committee which has been constituted with Deputy
Director (Nursing), Health Deptt., Govt. of Mizoram as Chairman
and members drawn from Principals of Nursing Schools such as
Nursing School, Presbyterian Hospital, Durtlang, Christian
Hospital, Serkawn, Civil Hospital, Lunglei, Health Workers
Training School, Aizawl and Registrar, Mizoram Nursing Council.
The
responsibility of Steering Committee are:- Screening and
selection of Nurses for the Programme and facilitate Placement
for the Trained Nurses in India by liaisoning with industries.
Present Status of
the Programme
The
inauguration of the training was held on 1st June, 2004 (Friday)
by Shri R.Tlanghingthanga, Hon'ble Minister of Health & Family
Welfare, Government of Mizoram. Shri Z.H. Ropuia, Hon'ble
Minister of Labour & Employment, Government of Mizoram was Guest
of Honour and Shri S.N. Sarmah, Director, RIPAN was also present
as a Special invitee.
Encouraging response has been received from leading health care
institutions in the country such as: - Max Health Staff
International Ltd., AIIMS, Apollo Hospital and Escorts Hospital.
The feedback received for inclusion
in the syllabus include:- Grooming, Gender issues, Time
management, Coping mechanism (Psychology), Practicing of the
language, Removing of Professional fears, Adaptability of the
work culture & Attitude. So far 210 candidates have been
trained and 69 have been placed.
